Challenge
The resort’s pool and garden walkways were structurally sound but looked tired and became slick in wet conditions—precisely where guests are often barefoot. Full re-tiling would have meant cost, waste and disruption without addressing the underlying need for a higher, more reliable level of grip.
Objectives

Solution
We specified Crosscote, an exterior-grade, multi-substrate coating engineered to bond securely to tile, stone and concrete while meeting European slip-resistance requirements. To suit the location, we selected a mid-texture grade—not too rough for comfort, not too smooth for safety—and tinted it a subtle beige to lift the appearance without glare. A transparent sealer was included to resist staining and ease cleaning.
Implementation
The walkways were thoroughly prepared and recoated with the selected Crosscote system in the agreed colour. Edges and transitions were detailed to maintain smooth movement for guests and trolleys. After curing, a clear protective sealer was applied across all treated areas.
